The 1921 Western Electric Candlestick

This is one of the best phones in my collection, the 1921 Western Electric 50-AL candlestick.  This was the first dial phone introduced by Western Electric for the Bell System.  This model, the 50AL, was first used in New York City in September of 1921 when New York City switched to automatic exchanges.   This phone features an early 2AA dial, complete with mint 2AA porcelain number ring, and all original Western Electric parts. The phone is also working.  The dial center says "Please Wait for Dial Tone"  This phone also has a pink celluloid address book attachment, which was sold as part of a desk set around 1925.
