Western Electric 191G Pay Telephone

Upper Housing Exposed

Western Electric 191G Pay Telephone

By opening the 10G lock, the top pulls off of the phone.  You can see the coin relay electromagnets (labeled B in the photo) and the 101A induction coil, insulated by an original rubber cover.  Only two lines need to run into the pay phone, those are tip and ring.  They are the red and green wires in the wall for the telephone.  Additionally, two wires are needed if you want to operate the coin relay, however, to do that requires the coin relay control circuit.  Read about the coin relay control circuit and see the one I built by clicking here.
