NOTES:  Academic Scholars are allowed to enroll in open sections of all of the classes listed above. If other Integrative Studies Honors sections (IAH, ISB, ISP, or ISS) are added, they will also be open to Academic Scholars.

Approved Substitutions Available in 2008-09

Academic Scholars will be allowed to substitute selected alternative courses for part of their Integrative Studies requirements. They will be allowed to use up to two courses, each from different knowledge areas, from the list below.  Courses followed by an H must be taken as an Honors section to be used as an Integrative Studies substitution; those not followed by an H may be taken either as an Honors section or a regular section to be used as a substitute.  Courses that are required for a Scholar’s major may not be double-counted as an Integrative Studies substitute (although if they are Honors sections, they will still count toward Academic Scholars requirements).  For more detailed information on the use of substitutions by Academic Scholars, please consult the Frequently Asked Questions page in the Academic Scholars website, at <http://www.msu.edu/~asp/faq.htm>.
