Academic Scholars Program
COURSE ARCHIVE

Academic Scholars always have access to any Integrative Studies Honors section, any WRA 195H section (or LB 133H for Briggs majors), and Honors sections of several additional courses that may apply to a major or be taken as electives.  The Integrative Studies substitutions approved for Academic Scholars are limited to a select list of Honors and non-Honors courses, which vary slightly from year to year depending on availability of course offerings.  The full list of those substitutions appears at the bottom of this page; for courses available in a particular year and the full list of approved ASP Honors sections for a given year, click on the link for that year.

To fulfill the requirements for the Academic Scholars Program, students in the Program may use any course listed under their first or second year at MSU, as recorded in the pages linked below.  After their second year, although ASP Honors courses and Integrative Studies substitutions will no longer apply to fulfilling Program requirements (which must be completed within the first two years), Scholars will still have access to them and may still use them for University requirements in Integrative Studies if needed.

Approved Integrative Studies Substitutions for Academic Scholars
Academic Scholars are allowed to substitute selected alternative courses for part of their Integrative Studies requirements. They may use up to two courses, each from a different Integrative Studies area, from the list below (subject to course availability in a given year).  Courses followed by an H must be taken as an Honors section to be used as an Integrative Studies substitution; those not followed by an H may be taken either as an Honors section or a regular section to be used as a substitute. Courses required for a Scholar's major may not be double-counted as an Integrative Studies substitute (although if they are Honors sections, they will still count toward ASP requirements).  For more detailed information on the use of substitutions by Academic Scholars, see the FAQ page in the ASP website, at <http://www.msu.edu/~asp/faq.htm>.
