The Asian Pacific American Studies Professorial Assistantship (APA-PA) Program

The Asian Pacific American Studies Professorial Assistantship (APA-PA) Program is an opportunity for undergraduate MSU students (second year and up) interested in conducting independent or collaborative research on an Asian Pacific American topic with a faculty or staff mentor. This is a year long commitment. Students must have a 3.0 GPA or higher. The selected Professorial Assistants are committed to work 10 hours per week on the research project, meet with their mentor once per week, attend two APA-PA Studies workshops and present their research at the annual APA Studies conference held in the spring. Upon completion of their work, PAs will receive not only a $2,500 stipend but also will gain valuable experience in research or community outreach relating to APA issues that will help when applying for graduate school or future employment.
