National Coming Out Days Week is upon us!
Here is the list of events:

- 2:00 - 6:00 pm, around the fountain behind the Student Services Building.
Come enjoy good 'ole fashioned barbecue food to kick off National Coming Out Week! We'll have classic games, like croquet & bocce ball, in the beautiful gardens behind Student Services so everyone can enjoy their afternoon, and start the week off right! (Rain location is Room 6 in the SSB basement.) Sponsored by Spectrum and PRIDE. - Mon, Oct 6 – Ally Training
- 7:00 - 9:00 pm, Room G-8 Holden Hall.
Training for student leaders about how heterosexism and genderism hurt everyone in our community, and what each person and their organization can do to make our campus a more open and affirming place. Come see the premier of this movie described as "the most compelling DIY, gender bending, feel-good film directed by a transsexual lesbian you've seen all year! Gwen Haworth, a filmmaker from Vancouver, turns her camera at herself for this simple, down-to-earth documentary that follows her transition from male to female. This thoughtful film is less a detailing of surgeries and more a meditation on family ties." The film runs 70 minutes with a facilitated discussion afterwards. Sponsored by PRISM and TransAction. Rebecca Walker is a famed author and co-founder of the acclaimed feminist Third Wave Foundation. She has received numerous awards for her achievements, including the Women of Distinction Award from The National Association of University Women, "Feminist of the Year" award from the Fund for the Feminist Majority, the "Paz Y Justicia" award from the Vanguard Foundation, the "Intrepid Award" from the National Organization for Women, and the "Women Who Could Be President Award" from the League of Women Voters, among others. SGL-SOCIAL's annual poetry slam, where students share their own spoken word pieces and works of others that have impacted them. This year's performances focus on intersecting identities, minority identities (sex, gender, race, religion, ethnicity, ability, et cetera), and the multiple ways in which coming out is experienced in all facets of life. - Sat, Oct 11, National Coming Out Day! – HomecomingOut Dance!

Give yourself an excuse to get glammed up and dance the night away 'til you can't feel your feet in the morning! - Fri, Oct 17 – Personal Displays of Affection Day
- 10:00 am - noon. Outside Wells Hall.
Celebrate Sweetest Day by showing personal displays of affection outside Wells Hall. Whether it be holding hands, giving hugs, or a simple kiss on the cheek, come show your love for the human race (please keep displays appropriate and limited to consensual participants).
