Cook Hall

study group
Cook Hall was built in 1889 as the first agricultural laboratory at MSU. Dr. Rolla Clinton Carpenter, instructor and professor of Mathematics and civil engineering at MSU designed it. Cook Hall is named after Dr. Albert John Cook, who taught at MSU for over 25 years (1867-1893). Cook hall has seen many uses in the 111 years since it was built.

Graduate students in the department of Agricultural Economics currently use it as office space. Cook Hall was completely renovated in 1998. In its present configuration, Cook Hall has 72 desk spaces, two conference/study rooms, a lunchroom with kitchenette, two lounge areas, modern bathrooms, and complete fire-safety equipment. Each room in Cook Hall is occupied by 3-10 students and has a secure door. Larger offices have two telephones, and every desk has electrical and Ethernet connections. Desks also have lockable storage bins and filing cabinets. We are very proud of our office space in Cook Hall!
