Information for Persons with Disabilities

BRESLIN CENTER CEREMONIES (FALL SEMESTER).

Due to the desire of ALL to participate in commencement ceremonies, even those who face challenges in mobility and in their health, we ask for the cooperation of all to exercise as much patience as possible. Please feel free to contact us with questions. We are pleased to assist you with your visit to campus on a very happy and momentous occasion.

GRADUATES WITH DISABILITIES. Please contact Betsy White at whitebe@msu.edu for accommodations.

GUESTS OF GRADUATES. The Breslin Center is a barrier-free facility. Wheelchair seating is available at the Concourse level (level at which you enter the facility). Ushers will direct guests to these seating areas. Those not in wheelchairs and unable to climb stairs or with other mobility challenges may be seated in this area. In order to accommodate as many as possible we ask that those who require wheelchair seating be seated with one other guest in your party and that the remaining members of your party be seated in the general seating areas.

Wheelchairs are available at Guest Services (Gate B entrance) on a first-come, first-serve basis. Wheelchairs are to be used only for transporting individuals to and from the parking lot to the facility and to and from the seating areas. They are not to be used for seating. Identification is required to use wheelchairs. Please arrive early so that accommodations may be met.

The "Phonic Ear," for guests requiring sound amplification, is available at Guest Services (Gate B entrance). Other services available at Guest Services: first-aid, lost and found, information and referrals. Please arrive early so that accommodations are met.

An INTERPRETER FOR THE DEAF will be on the platform (stage). Guests requiring an interpreter for the commencement ceremonies, please contact Betsy White at whitebe@msu.edu for reserved seating tickets--provide your name, mailing address and number of tickets (a limit to the number of tickets may be required in order to accommodate all requests).
